Soul Reformation

In the Philippines civil authority is blamed for the nation’s ills. Civil disobedience and disturbance have become a national pastime. Yet civil authority is nothing but a reflection of the popular character. Divine Justice fields the government leaders that a nation deserves. A nation that loves godliness begets godly leaders. Conversely, a nation that loves wickedness begets wicked leaders. A nation that rejects God becomes godless, lawless, selfish, corrupt and unjust. Its selfishness produces mediocrity, scarcity and frustration; its corruption breeds ailment, suffering and death; its injustice sires discord and misery.
Divine Justice has all the governments in the world under its control. God holds the fates of its rulers in His hand (eg. Jeremiah 25:12). God referred to the wicked ruler Nebuchadnezzar as “My servant” (Jeremiah 25:9) because He moves the hearts of kings according to His pleasure (Ezra 1:1).
4 The government of the earth is in the hands of the Lord, He sets the right man over it at the right time. ECCLESIASTICUS 10
15 By Me kings reign and rulers make laws that are just; 16 by Me princes govern, and all nobles who rule on earth. PROVERBS 8
8 “Because you have not listened to My words, 9 I will summon all the peoples of the north and my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon,” declares the Lord, “and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy them and make them an object of horror and scorn, and an everlasting ruin. 10 I will banish from them the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, the sound of millstones and the light of the lamp. 11 This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years. 12 But when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation, the land of the Babylonians, for their guilt.” JEREMIAH 25
Soul reformation is the solution to the ills of the Philippine nation, not civil disobedience or disturbance. The nation must do away with its rejection of God and its love for wickedness and lawlessness. Remove the cause of the problem and the cure is found. The Philippine situation will keep on worsening until the cause of the problem is dealt with appropriately.
1 Hear the Word of the Lord, you Israelites, because the Lord has a charge to bring against you who live in the land: “There is no faithfulness, no love; no acknowledgment of God in the land… 3 Because of this the land mourns, and all who live in it waste away.” HOSEA 4
The Marcos dictatorship was toppled in 1986 only to be replaced by four government administrations that did worse. The sacrifices of those who fought for national betterment went to waste. What went wrong? We changed our government leaders but retained our wicked hearts. Moral regeneration was absent. We wanted the nation to be changed but not ourselves. We elected wicked hearts to manage the government and got what we deserve.
What is needed is change in men, not change of men. Let there be soul reformation with the God-worshipers at the forefront. Let soul reformation spur the political and socio-economic improvements we crave for.
And let there be prudence. When a house is on fire it does not help to fan the fire. Firefighting requires prudence. Lucifer is making everyone confused, agitated and impatient. He is provoking everyone to be violent and destructive. Do not give him the satisfaction. Let the God-worshipers teach composure and faith, and encourage everyone listen, so we can see things more clearly, be more creative, and agree faster on what course of action to take.
13 The prudent man keeps quiet, for the times are evil. AMOS 5
8 When you complain against [the leaders that Divine Justice has appointed], you are really complaining against the Lord. EXODUS 16 tev
2 Why are you complaining? Why are you putting the Lord to the test? EXODUS 17 tev
1 The people began to complain to the Lord about their troubles. When the Lord heard them, He became angry and sent fire on the people. NUMBERS 11 tev
Lastly, let us help the President, not curse her. The people that reject God are disturbed souls; they need to be helped. When a President is elected from among them, the more she needs to be helped. Let us help whether it is convenient to us or not; whether we succeed or not; whether the recipient is worthy of help or not. We may not agree with how she manages the government, her person and family, but help her we must do nonetheless. Everyone needs love.
28 Do not curse the ruler of your people. EXODUS 22
Help the President first and blame her later. If she must be criticized for her wrongdoing, weakness or infirmity, let the criticism be sincere and constructive (clearly stating the problem, its cause and proposed solution). Air it publicly only if God commands it and if she permits it; otherwise, limit it to her ears.
1 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to know the truth. 1 TIMOTHY 2
