Multiply Your Blessings

Instruction No. 1:
Multiply Your Blessings
A father put up a business. His son was appointed to be its manager, the seed capital placed in his hands. What was the son’s responsibility and obligation to his father? To make the seed capital grow, right? In the spiritual realm, our blessings are seed capital. Our first responsibility and obligation is to make it grow.
14 [The kingdom of heaven is] like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them. 15 To one, he gave five talents of money; to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more. 17 So also, the one with the two talents gained two more. 18 But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. 19 After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. “Master,” he said, “you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.” 21 His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” 22 The man with the two talents also came. “Master,” he said, “you entrusted me with two talents: see, I have gained two more.” 23 His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” 24 Then the man who had received the one talent came. “Master,” he said, “I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.” 25 His master replied, “You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 26 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. 27 [The master commanded his servants,] Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has ten talents. 28 For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 29 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” MATTHEW 25
Matthew 25:14-29 is about talent management, talent being the sum total of blessings we have received from God. Verse 28 says he who proves to be a trustworthy steward will be entrusted with bigger blessings and greater responsibilities.
10 If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. 11 And if you are untrustworthy in worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven? LUKE 16 nlt
Of course, Lucifer does not want anyone to become a trustworthy steward. This explains why he is lullabying us into lethargy and idleness, laziness and tardiness. What if we yield to his lullaby? Then our stewardship would end up a failure. We would be buried in abject poverty. The little blessings left with us would be taken away (Matthew 25:30). We would suffer the fate of the unproductive fig tree in Mark 11:20-24, which “withered from the roots” and became good only as wood for the fire.
Nobody should sleep on his blessings.
13 Do not love sleep or you will grow poor; stay awake and you will have food to spare… 4 A sluggard does not plow in season; so at harvest time he looks but finds nothing. PROVERBS 20
30 I went past the field of the sluggard, past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgment; 31 thorns had come up everywhere; the ground was covered with weeds; and the stone wall was in ruins. 32 I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw: 33 a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— 34 and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man. PROVERBS 24
4 Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth. PROVERBS 10
4 The sluggard craves and gets nothing to satisfy his cravings, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied. PROVERBS 13
11 Make it your aim… to mind your own business and to earn your own living… 12 In this way you will win the respect of those who are not believers, and you will not have to depend on anyone for what you need. 1 THESSALONIANS 4 tev
28 He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need. EPHESIANS 4
The Son of Man did not sleep on His blessings.
17 My Father is always working, and I too must work. JOHN 5 tev
6 Pay close attention, My son, and let My life be your example. PROVERBS 23 tev
