The Sabbath Called Feast of Trumpets

Its Old Covenant Significance

The Feast of Trumpets signals the end of Isra’el’s agricultural year and welcomes Rosh ha’shanah, the Jewish New Year. It calls for ten days of deep reflection and introspection. Shofars (horns and trumpets) are blown to remind everyone of the Last Trumpet. The Israelites gather before God’s presence and do inventory of their individual and collective spiritual condition. Spiritual detoxification is done and their relationship with God renewed.

²⁴ Say to the Israelites: On the first day of the seventh month [Tishri 1] you are to have a day of rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. ²⁵ Do no regular work, but present an offering made to the Lord by fire. LEVITICUS 23

¹ It is a day for you to sound the trumpets. ² As an aroma pleasing to the Lord, prepare a burnt offering of one young bull, one ram and seven male lambs a year old, all without defect. ³ With the bull prepare a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of fine-flour mixed with oil; with the ram, two-tenths; ⁴ and with each of the seven lambs, one-tenth. ⁵ Include one male goat as a sin offering to make atonement for you. NUMBERS 29

⁸ The sons of Aaron, the priests, are to blow the trumpets. This is to be a lasting ordinance for you and the generations to come. NUMBERS 10

Its New Covenant Significance

THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS REMINDS EVERYONE OF THE END TIMES, WHICH SHALL UNFOLD THE GREAT TRIBULATION, THE SECOND COMING AND THE MILLENNIAL REIGN.

THE GREAT TRIBULATION

²¹ …There will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. MATTHEW 24

Great distress (also time of distress in Daniel 12) is a reference to the Great Tribulation. Lawlessness and wickedness, terror and persecution, are its signature. The common belief is that it would last seven years and is yet to come. But the Scripture indicates that it has come and been with us for 2,000 years. Listen. 

²⁴ Seventy sevens are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy. ²⁵ Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven sevens and sixty two sevens. DANIEL 9

Daniel 9:25 speaks of 62 sevens and 7 sevens, which add to 69 sevens. Sixty nine times seven equals 483, which corresponds to the number of years from Prophet Nehemiah’s time (the issuance of the royal decree permitting the Jerusalem Temple to be rebuilt) to Y’shua’s time. The seventieth and last seven corresponds to the Great Tribulation (Daniel 9:27). It started with Y’shua’s death.

Y’shua confirmed Daniel’s timeline:

³⁵ I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. JOHN 4

The Scripture speaks of eventualities which signal the Great Tribulation is at hand:

  i.          The arrival of the antichrist

⁷ The secret power of lawlessness is already at work. 2 THESSALONIANS 2

¹⁸ Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know that it is the last hour. 1 JOHN 2

ii.          The alteration of the appointed feasts (set times) and God’s instructions.

²⁵ [The beast] will speak against the Most High and oppress His saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time [42 months]. DANIEL 7

iii.          The alteration of the Most Holy Name from Y’shua (God Saves!) to Jesus (Hail Zeus!)

⁶ The beast opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander His name… REVELATION 13

iv.          The trampling of Jerusalem by the Gentiles. A Muslim Dome of the Rock now stands on a wing of the site where the Jerusalem Temple used to stand.

¹ Go and measure the temple of God and the altar and count the worshipers there. ² But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. REVELATION 11

v.          The rise of a world-influential church in Rome, a city that sits on seven hills. 

³ I saw a woman [church] sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns… ⁵ This title was written on her forehead:

MYSTERY

BABYLON THE GREAT

THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES

AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

⁹ This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. REVELATION 17

²⁷ And on a wing of the temple, [the beast] will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him. DANIEL 9    

Y’shua said, “What you are waiting for has already come, but you do not know it.” (Gospel of Thomas, verse 15)

The Tribulation Purpose

The Great Tribulation is heightened baptism of fire. God is allowing it to determine who among His followers and their angels will “endure to the end” (Matthew 24:13).

¹⁷ Then the dragon was enraged at the woman [the Church] and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring—those who obey God’s commandments and hold to the testimony of Y’shua. REVELATIONS 12    

Lucifer has been at it since Day 1. But these days he is hurried, acting with urgency and intensity, knowing he has little time left (Revelation 20:4).

¹ And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. ² He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent who is the devil, or Lucifer, and bound him for a thousand years. ³ He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. ⁴ After that, he must be set free for a short time. REVELATION 20

Lucifer was imprisoned for 1,000 years. It must have happened immediately after Y’shua disarmed the powers and authorities of the evil empire (Colossians 2:15).

³¹ Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. JOHN 12

But before the angel seized him, the devil was able to form an unholy trinity composed of the antichrist, the false prophet, and the Great Babylon. The world did not notice Lucifer’s absence because the trio has been doing the dirty work for him (ruling the world independently of each other, although at times one would wear two robes, if not all three).

The Kingdom War

Now, imagine a tug-o-war for the human soul. It begins when the man prays for divine help or manifests a desire to turn into a new leaf. On one hand are the angelic forces and on the other hand are the wicked forces (the demons of the evil empire’s seven kingdoms and their human lackeys).

The angelic forces are mobilized by justice, truth and righteousness; its head is the Spirit. Their objective is to win the lost and keep the righteous. They pull toward restoration. The demonic forces are mobilized by injustice, deception and wickedness; its head is the unholy trinity. Their objective is to win the righteous and keep the lost. They pull toward the Second Death.

The demonic forces shove, nudge and choke, kick and box, shoot darts and arrows, stab and hack. The angelic forces take the defensive. The man gets hit along with the angels that watch over him every time he fails to heed God’s instructions. His hits manifest in the form of bodily, emotional and mental ailments.

Saints (pure souls) get martyred in the tug-o-war. Instead of being daunted, however, it inspires their coworkers to continue the fight. And it makes sense. Why prolong their exile and agony in this miserable world when they could be cozying it up with God in His kingdom? This, we believe, is the proper perspective behind the Muslim jihad.

¹³ Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them. REVELATION 14

²⁴ I [Paul] consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Y’shua has given me—the task of testifying to the Gospel of God’s grace. ACTS 20

⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. ⁸ Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing. 2 TIMOTHY 4  

God is waiting for 144,000 saints to be martyred. The coworkers of God have been racing to fill the slots. Once filled, the angelic forces will take the offensive.

⁹ When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altars the souls of those who had been slain because of the Word of God and the testimony they had maintained. ¹⁰ They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood!” ¹¹ Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed. REVELATION 6

The final battle will be at Armageddon.

⁷ When the thousand years are over, Lucifer will be released from his prison ⁸ and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. ⁹ They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city He loves. REVELATION 20

¹² The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East. ¹³ Then I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. ¹⁴ They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty… ¹⁶ Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon. REVELATION 16

On this battle the Son of Man will take over from the Spirit as head of the angelic forces.

¹³ In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led to His presence. ¹⁴ He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. DANIEL 7

¹² Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with Me, and I will give to everyone according to what He has done. ¹⁴ Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. REVELATION 22

¹¹ I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice He judges and makes war. ¹² His eyes are like blazing fire, and on His head are many crowns. He has a name written on Him that no one knows but He Himself. ¹³ He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is the Word of God. ¹⁴ The armies of heaven were following Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. ¹⁵ Out of His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. He will rule them with iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. ¹⁶ On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: King of kings and Lord of lords. REVELATION 19

⁵ The Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him. ZECHARIAH 14

¹⁵ Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed. REVELATION 16

The angelic forces will seize the antichrist and the false prophet and throw them into the Second Death along with Lucifer. This will put the Great Tribulation to an end.

¹⁷ And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, ¹⁸ so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great.” ¹⁹ Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the Rider on the horse and His army. ²⁰ But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. ²¹ The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the Rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh. REVELATION 19

²¹ As I watched, this horn was waging war against the saints and defeating them, until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgment in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came when they possessed the kingdom. DANIEL 7

¹⁴ [Ten kings] will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with Him will be His called, chosen and faithful followers. REVELATION 17

⁹ Fire came down from heaven and devoured the [forces of Lucifer]. ¹⁰ And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. REVELATION 20

³ Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day [the Lord’s Day] will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. ⁸ ...whom the Lord Y’shua will overthrow with the breath of His mouth and destroy by the splendor of His coming. 2 THESSALONIANS 2

²¹ In that day the Lord will punish the powers in the heavens above and the kings in the earth below. ²² They will be herded together like prisoners bound in a dungeon. ISAIAH 24

Who the Unholy Trinity Are

Demonic spirits incarnate. About 30 million from the evil empire’s “water kingdom” took the form of pretty girls on July 1986 and operated as prostitutes in different parts of the world. A new batch of 30 million came nine years after, and would come every nine years thereafter, to replace the old batch. (Occult Grand Master Now In Christ, p. 32)

The demon-incarnates that manipulate the political setups and institutions in the world are the antichrists. They have human agents in our homes, schools, workplaces, churches and governments that draw knowingly or unknowingly us away from God through satanic parenting.

¹ I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” ² I looked and there before me was a white horse! Its rider [the antichrist] held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest. REVELATION 6

¹ And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. ² The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. ³ The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. ⁴ Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?” ⁵ The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months. ⁶ He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander His name and His dwelling place and those who live in heaven. ⁷ He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. ⁸ All the inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Book of Life belonging to the Lamb… ⁹ He who has an ear, let him hear. ¹⁰ If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed. This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints. REVELATION 13

²⁷ [The beast] will confirm a covenant with many for one seven. In the middle of the seven he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. DANIEL 9

The demon-incarnates that manipulate the economic setups and institutions in the world are the false prophets. They have human agents in our homes, schools, workplaces, churches and governments that knowingly or unknowingly draw us away from God through satanic financial comptrollership.

These are some of their teachings: Life is survival of the fittest. Earthly riches, power and vanity are all that matters. Expensive cars, huge mansions, exotic travels, wild shopping, fashionable wears, extravagant parties, and sexual escapades are the measure of every man’s success. Buy power to amass more power, gain wealth to gain more wealth, intimidate and eliminate any opposition. Everything has a price and everyone can be bought. Always aim for “market share” and “market control.” Kill, steal and destroy if necessary. Success is best achieved through lawlessness, wickedness and ruthlessness. But project an image of gentleness, decency and fear. Practice subterfuge; do not let the left hand know what the right hand is doing. Morality, ethics and religion are nothing but manipulative tools to achieve set goals.

¹¹ Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth [meaning from the Jews]. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon. ¹² He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast… ¹³ And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men. ¹⁴ Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. ¹⁵ He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. ¹⁶ He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, ¹⁷ so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. ¹⁸ This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man’s number. His number is 666. REVELATION 13 [1]

The demon-incarnates that manipulate the religious setups and institutions in the world are of the Great Babylon. They have human agents in our homes, schools, workplaces, churches and governments that knowingly or unknowingly draw us away from God through false religious teaching. The mother of them all is the church that sits on seven hills.[2]

¹ One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came to me and said, “Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits on many waters. ² With her the kings of the earth committed adultery and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries.” ⁶ I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of those who bore testimony to Y’shua. ⁷ Then the angel said to me: “Why are you astonished? I will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the beast she rides, which has seven heads and ten horns. ⁸ The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and will come up out of the Abyss and go to his destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the Book of Life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because he once was, now is not, and yet will come. ⁹ This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. ¹⁰ They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has yet to come; but when he does come, he must remain for a little while. ¹¹ The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction. ¹² The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. ¹³ They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast. ¹⁴ They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with Him will be His called, chosen and faithful followers.” ¹⁵ Then the angel said to me, “The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages. ¹⁶ The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked. They will eat her flesh and burn her with fire. ¹⁷ For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish His purpose by agreeing to give the beast their power to rule, until God’s words are fulfilled. ¹⁸ The woman you saw is the great city that rules over kings of the earth.” REVELATION 17

Early History of the Great Tribulation

Lucifer caused the early Christians to be persecuted. Ten Roman emperors did it for him: Nero (54-68), Domitian (81-96), Trajan (98-117), Marcus Aurelius (161-180), Severus (193-211), Maximinius (235-238), Decius (249-251), Valerian (253-260), Aurelian (270-275) and Diocletian (284-305).

²⁴ The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. DANIEL 7

The Roman emperors did everything in their power to destroy the new faith of Christianity by burning both Christians and the Scripture manuscripts throughout their vast empire, and razing their churches to the ground. (The Signature of God, p. 21)

Emperor Nero reportedly sat atop the Quirinal Hill in 64 ad, playing his lyre and singing, while Rome burned for six days below him. He then blamed the fire on the Christians, whom he proceeded to slaughter in vast numbers: some were covered in wax, impaled on poles and set on fire to illuminate Nero’s garden parties. “Now you are truly the light of the world,” he was reported to have joked. Others were sewn up into the skins of animals and fed to the lions of the arena; many more were crucified.[3]

¹⁰ I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. REVELATION 2

Next came the compromising.

Constantine the Great issued the Edict of Milan in 313 ad declaring Catholicism (then an emerging form of Christian faith) as the state religion of the Roman Empire. The persecution was stopped and the Roman Catholic Church rose to become the most powerful among the Christian churches. In return for the favor, the church embraced the pagan emperor as one of its own. It even allowed him to intervene in its ecclesiastical affairs.  

In 321 ad Constantine moved the Seventh-Day Sabbath to the Day of the Sun. In 325 ad he presided over the Council of Nicaea and served notice to the other Christian communities to observe Catholicism or else face persecution and death. With his consent, the church formed the Bible and translated it from Aramaic to Greek. In the process the Most Holy Name was altered. As if to hide the misdeed, the Aramaic manuscripts were burned and the early Christians were compelled to accept the revised copy. 

Power-hungry and compromising leaders were appointed to the church, politicized it, and mobilized it to neutralize the early Christians just as Daniel 7:25 prophesied. By the time of fifth century Pope Leo I, the Bishop of Rome, was claiming and to some extent was exercising a primacy of leadership over the other churches (Microsoft Encarta Reference Library 2003). 

False teachings were imposed as part of the state religion:

1.    The veneration of saints and angels beginning 375 ad.

2.    The veneration of the Virgin Mary beginning 431 ad.

3.    The belief in purgatory beginning 593 ad.

4.    The veneration of idols beginning 787 ad.  

5.    The ban on laypeople from reading and studying the Scripture. Even mere possession of the Bible was made illegal for them. The Synod of Valencia under Pope Gregory IX started the ban in 1229. Only the clergy could read, study, interpret and teach the Word. Violation of the ban was punished with death and confiscation of property. Many Bibles were burned with their owners.[4]

[2] Emmanuel Milingo, deposed Archbishop of Lusaka, Zambia and a respected exorcist, made an accusation at the Fatima 2000 International Congress on World Peace held in Rome in Nov. 1996 that “members of the Catholic Church hierarchy are secretly involved in the darkest kinds of formal Satan worship.” According to him, the devil within the church is so protected that the exorcist is forbidden to do his job. 

Catholic scholar, Dr. Malachi Martin, formerly a Jesuit professor at Gregorian University and confidant of Vatican insiders flatly declared in July 1997: “Yes, it’s true. Lucifer is enthroned in the Catholic Church.” The enthronement was supposed to have happened on June 23, 1963, highlighted by a black mass inside the Vatican, the night before Monsignor Giovanni Battista Montini was crowned Pope Paul VI.

Back in 1976, Pope Paul VI shocked a papal audience by confiding that, “The smoke of Satan has entered the very sanctuary of St. Peter’s Cathedral.” The Pope went on to explain that he had knowledge of a midnight hour, Black Satanic Mass, having been conducted at the altar of St. Peter’s, on the exact spot where he himself regularly says mass.—Armando Ang, Dark Side of Catholicism ((Manila: A1 Publishing, 2009 edition), pp. 742-743.
