What to do until the Messianic community is rebuilt?
2 Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? 3 …Hear Me, that your soul may live. ISAIAH 55
19 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where rust and moths destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where rust and moths do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. MATTHEW 6
2 [Help] carry each other’s burdens [overloads], and in this way you will fulfill the Law of the Messiah [which is to love one another as He had loved us]. GALATIANS 6
10 It is better to lose your money by helping a relative or a friend than to lose it by letting it rust away under a rock somewhere. SIRACH 29
Why Give
Give to imitate God. Charity is the kingdom way.
9 For you know the grace of our Lord Y’shua the Messiah, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich… 11 Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. 2 CORINTHIANS 8
Charity concretizes divine love in both the giver and the recipient.
1 And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given to the Macedonian churches. 2 Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3 For I testify that they gave as much as were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. 5 And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God’s will. 2 CORINTHIANS 8
The more charitable you become, the more blessed you will be (Acts 20:35). Lucifer makes us believe that doing charity is to have less; that is not true. Keep the faucet open and God’s blessings will flow continuously unto your cup. Close it and the blessings are held back. We speak from experience.
10 We are poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything. 2 CORINTHIANS 6
24-25 It is possible to give away and become richer! It is also possible to hold on too tightly and lose everything. Yes, the liberal [generous] man shall be rich! By watering others, he waters himself. PROVERBS 11 tlb
38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will pour unto your lap. LUKE 6
The needy knocking at your door is a God-sent opportunity for you to be blessed.
10 Never miss a chance to give to the poor. SIRACH 7
8 God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work… 10 Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion. 2 CORINTHIANS 9
2 I will bless you... and you will be a blessing to others. GENESIS 12 nlt
